What you will have an opportunity to do:

We are looking for a dynamic, engaging and culture driven leader to cultivate a Be the Difference culture. This position will work with the Director of Human Resources to oversee the daily operations of the office, recruitment and retention, benefit and workers compensation implementation, talent management and coaching and counseling for the property.

Your role :

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Human Resources office.

  • Assists with and ensures that all procedures concerning promotion, transfer and separation of property staff is carried on within property and Company policy and within legal boundaries.

  • Provide guidance to the leadership team regarding employee morale, employee relations, coaching, counseling and discipline.

  • Assist with local annual benefits enrollment, billing/reconciliations, on-going team member questions and needs.

  • Assist in the administration of social benefit programs, including but not limited to Quarterly awards, bulletin boards, and recreational and other social programs.

  • Work with leaders to manage the performance feedback and talent management.

  • Oversee Workers Compensation programs, ensuring claims and reports are submitted in a timely basis, modified duty and ensuring employees return to work.

  • Maintain compliance with federal and state labor law, including EEO, wage & hour, and regulatory agencies.

  • Continually assess employee morale by analyzing absenteeism and turnover records, lateness and resignations; by conducting exit interviews, and by interviewing associates periodically in order to ascertain possible trouble areas.

  • Partners with hotel leadership on progressive discipline and action plans.

  • Conduct management training and advise management of labor law issues. Ensure management is compliance with all current state and federal labor laws.

  • Assist with planning, coordinating and executing employee events and activities, including associate meetings, parties, community service projects and more.

  • Establish Open Door Policy with employees to ensure the atmosphere is one of management involvement.

    What are we looking for?

  • College degree preferred, and/or equivalent work experience.

  • 5 years of Human Resources experience required, preferably in the hospitality or similar industry.

  • Knowledge of governmental employment laws.

  • Excellent computer proficiency needed.

  • Be able to convey information and ideas clearly, both oral and written.

  • Be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.

  • Be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.

  • An effective listener, understanding and clarifying concerns and issues raised by team members.
