Join our ITC team to develop and maintain applications and reports for the Information Systems Section. Collaborate with lead developer in the development/maintenance of web-based applications on a UNIX platform using PERL as the main coding language. Applications will interface with a back-end Oracle database. Assignments will be made and documented via Bugzilla the software tracking system. You will be responsible for managing your own applications and meeting any enhancements needed by the end user. Meet with software users and understand their job functions, identify software requirements, communicate an operational concept to the users, demonstrate proposed solutions and train users. Work with other team members to gather requirements as needed.
Requires a BS or BA degree in Computer Science with at 0-2 years of web-based development of application experience. May accept Information Systems majors with a programming background. Must have at least a 3.0 GPA. Experience or coursework in one or more of the following is preferred: PERL (PHP or Python acceptable variants) Web Development, CGI programming, Oracle Database, Java script, HTML, Apache, SQL and relational database. Familiarity UNIX (or Linux) operating system is required. Able to communicate with end users to gather request details and work in a team environment is required. A strong understanding of the software development cycle is required.
