Primary Responsibilities:

  • Building the data pipeline using big data technologies
  • More than 70%+ of the time spent on coding and/or hands-on technical implementation of scalable quality software solutions
  • Lead the design, coding, and unit tests through consistent development practices with a focus on building CI/CD, automated testing, and monitoring
  • Work with large, complex data sets (structured and semi-structured) to build data driven analytical products
  • Experience with AWS Cloud services and technologies (such as EMR, Lambda, Glue, Athena, SNS, SQS)
  • DevOps experience in Cloud infrastructure (such as by using Terraform and Python)
  • Perform various technical aspects of software development for assigned tasks including design, developing prototypes, and coding assignments
  • Lead thorough code reviews
  • Lead the deployment, support, and monitoring of software across development, integration, and production environments
  • Empower implementation teams by building scalable implementations by minimizing custom code per implementation
  • All phases of software engineering including requirements analysis, data architecture, solution design, code development and testing
  • Designing and implementing product features in collaboration with other technical teams, business and IT stakeholders
  • Designing reusable technical frameworks, libraries and components
  • Working very closely with Data Architecture group

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or higher
  • 5+ years of experience in software development
  • 3+ years of experience in Big Data Technologies (Spark, Hadoop, HDFS, Hive, SQL)
  • 3+ years of experience in a programming language (preferably in Scala and/or Java, Python)
  • 2+ years of experience in AWS Cloud technologies
  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Agile/Scrum methodology
  • Experience with Unix

The salary range for Colorado residents is $94,500 to $171,700.
