The IT Business Analyst - Demand Manager is responsible for managing the intake, discovery, resource capacity analysis and cross project impact analysis of business demand requests for all IT projects. As the planning service of the IT PMO, this position works closely with the Demand Business Analysts and IT Portfolio Managers to manage the workflow that leads to monthly executive review meetings. The Demand Intake Manager ensures business sponsors and IT leaders are aligned on the business purpose, work scope and IT estimate of each demand. Additionally, the Business Analyst - Demand Manager supports the capital management process through analysis, reporting and scheduling of demand review dates.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Captures business demand ideas and revisions in the annual capital planning cycles, including prioritization, estimation and scheduling for executive review
  • Manages the demand intake process for all IT demand, through the discovery, sizing, aligning and review phases of demand management
  • Performs resource capacity analysis during the demand process and creates resource plans based on business and IT prioritization alignment
  • Manages executive review meeting logistics; create agendas, ensure executive summary data accuracy, confirm co-endorsement by business and IT representatives, updates meeting invitations to stakeholders and creates communications to all stakeholders on executive decisions
  • Creates new projects in Service Now, ensures all relevant data is accurate, applies appropriate work breakdown structure templates, budgeting cost plan estimates and conducts a project handoff meeting with assigned project managers and other stakeholders
  • Provides capital impact analysis to IT Portfolio Managers during each review cycle as well as supporting analysis during 4 capital planning cycles
  • Performs other analysis and reporting duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Information Systems or related technical field required. (2 additional years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor's degree)

  • Three years of combined experience as a project coordinator, PMO/project analyst, a project scheduler or project manager leading technical projects (including development, integration, execution, and delivery)

  • Two years of experience planning and allocating technology project resources

  • One year of experience with Healthcare EMR; Physician Practice Management delivery, Healthcare Claims, or healthcare software delivery

  • Oneyear experience with Quickbase

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to facilitate working sessions with cross-functional teams (business, technical)

  • Ability to present to and manage communication with business/IT executive leadership

  • Basic understanding of at least one of the following key areas of the healthcare business including Payer, Claims, Clinical Care, and Health Care Economics

  • Experience with infrastructure delivery

  • Experience with platform management delivery

  • Experience with ServiceNow

  • Experience with Microsoft Project

  • Experience with Microsoft Visio

  • Proficiency with MS Office (Including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)

  • Working understanding of system development lifecycles such as waterfall and agile

  • Knowledge of infrastructure technology: virtual hosts/servers, database management systems, mass storage solutions or cloud solutions

  • Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders.
