Job Summary:

Collaborate with small software development teams to test and develop Java web applications that support a variety of NASA/ESA space missions. While the long-term expectation of this position is full or near-full time testing, initial responsibilities include test development, test case development, test case execution, defect reporting, developing new software functions in Java, and creating and improving existing web pages with Spring, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, and CSS. In addition, work closely with the Testing Lead assigned to their project to ensure testing standards and guidelines are followed in their work. The web applications support space missions by providing tools for planning mission activities, instrument telemetry data management, spaceflight operations tools, and space manufacturing support.


Education/Experience:

Requires a BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field with a software engineering focus with at least a 3.0 GPA and 0-5 years experience in testing or software development. Experience with Java, or either C++, C#, Groovy, or Scala and willingness to learn Java is required. Experience with Selenium WebDriver, Python, Spring, SQL, and the software development lifecycle is a plus. A valid/clear driver's license is required.

Must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident due to ITAR work in section.
