Who We Are:

Join Defense and Intelligence Solutions as a Computer Scientist where you will be challenged in developing next generation signal intelligence systems. The Software Engineering team is developing a new generation of data visualization capabilities to meet new challenges in signal intelligence system.


Objectives of this Role:

  • As a User Interface Computer Scientist, you will work on challenging new technical problems in collaborative team environments with Computer Scientists and Engineers. Work with tactical & strategic signal processing, information exploitation, signal intelligence systems
  • Develop next generation web-based signal processing data visualization applications
  • Work on new technical problems in collaborative team environments
  • Develop new technical solutions for the real-time display of streaming signal data and analytical information using web technologies, while working closely with customers and users on new designs
  • Develop expertise working with the visualization and presentation of large amounts of complex real-time radio frequency signal intelligence system data to users
  • Understand applied research solutions and develop and apply them to Linux servers, embedded systems, and both Linux and Windows workstations


Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

  • Develop new technical solutions for presenting large quantities of complex streaming real-time data for radio frequency signal processing systems
  • Graphical interfaces include both raw & analytical summary data displays to facilitate client operations & analysis
  • Learn and work with web-based technologies
  • Occasional development and debugging of server components are also to be expected
  • Interface development will be platform-independent for deployment on Windows and Linux workstations
  • Work in agile methodologies & project life cycles, including interacting with team members, technical clients to understand requirements, task constraints
  • Develop innovative design solutions to problems, test & integrate within larger system, installing and documention
  • Activities include working at SwRI laboratories and short-term travel to government facilities, military bases, other customer facilities, both in U.S. and overseas, for system installations and to provide technical support

Requirements:

  • Requires a Bachelors or a Masters with a 3.00 GPA in Computer Science or Computer Engineering (emphasis on programming and software development)
  • Proficiency with JavaScript or Typescript and user interface development
  • 0-5 years: Working knowledge and experience with JavaScript or TypeScript is required
  • Emphasis on graphical user interfaces including web/browser based applications with real-time streaming data presentation
  • Experience in React, Redux, WebGL, and HTML5 are highly desirable. Working knowledge of C++, Java, and Python is recommended
  • Knowledge of Node.js, Apache HTTP, and Apache Tomcat is helpful
  • Familiarity with signal processing, large data management/presentation, and/or object-oriented distributed applications is also desirable
  • Excellent technical communications skills, both verbal and written, are highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of software development processes including Agile
  • Requires ability to analyze and translate requirements into an application design, including coding and unit and integration testing in a team environment
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required
