DESCRIPTION:
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for managing the human resources function at the San Antonio manufacturing facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Assist department managers and supervisors in recruiting and hiring their hourly workforce, including placing employment ads, working with recruiters, reviewing applications, coordinating interviews, assisting in hiring decisions, and scheduling background checks and drug screens. Assist the Plant Manager and VP of Human Resources in the recruitment and hire of salaried positions as needed.
Act as Company liaison and contact with area temporary agencies to recruit temporary help, and work with managers and supervisors to maintain the required number on each shift to meet production needs.
Administer the employee attendance policy and disciplinary process with departmental managers and supervisors, ensuring consistency and fairness.
Act as employee relations liaison with hourly workforce, assisting in the resolution of issues occurring between employees, and between employee and supervisor, ensuring a safe and productive workplace free of harassment or other unlawful conduct.
Maintain weekly staffing reports and distribute to management.
Maintain and update all hourly employees’ personnel files.
Issue reports to supervisors with a schedule of reviews required.
Coordinate with supervisors and Managers on training schedules and maintain all training records for hourly and salaried employees.
Issue employee access cards.
Enter payroll for hourly employees, weekly.
Maintain all vacation information for hourly and salaried employees.
Track attendance for hourly employees and submit reports to appropriate supervisors.
Conduct new employee hiring orientations.
Review and maintain personnel policies. Keep all employees informed of any current changes.
Oversee the use of temporary employees, to include agency selection, pricing negotiations, scheduling, and accuracy of invoicing.
Act as company liaison with our worker’s compensation carrier, ensuring that the necessary documentation is created and shared in a timely manner. Ensure ongoing communication between the workers comp carrier, and the injured employee and implement steps to assist in successful return to work and full duty.
Coordinate plant employee communications, informing employees of Job Postings, Holiday Schedules, and general information.
Participate as a member of HR in the company Health and Safety Committee.
Coordinate and help facilitate employee focus group meetings with the Plant Manager.
Assist in planning and executing company functions, including but not limited to; annual holiday party, summer picnic, and employee service award luncheon and awards.
Maintain communication with Corporate HR in regards to reports, general updates, policy changes, new policy implementation, and any other relevant HR activities for the San Antonio plant

Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent in work experience is required.
3-4 years’ experience in Human Resources required, including successful experience in employee relations and a basic understanding of employment laws and regulations.
Solid organizational skills required.
Professional, flexible, highly motivated and has the ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Computer literate required.
