Join our Space Science and Engineering Division as a Lead Engineer. Perform structural design and analysis of space hardware. Design structures and electronic packaging for extreme environments. Review peer designs and lead more junior engineers. Produce reports fully documenting work performed. Supervise fabrication of hardware; develop test plans. Support design reviews throughout product life cycle and at multiple levels of integration. Defend design to both customer and non-advocate reviewers. Support promotional and proposal activities as part of team effort to develop new opportunities. May require field support: travel to customer facilities, NASA field centers, military bases and overseas.
Requires a BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related engineering degree, MS degree is a plus. Must have at least 8 years of experience. Must have at least a 3.0 GPA. Electromechanical design & analysis is required; preferably space related. Structural/stress analysis experience is required. Experience using software for design and analysis required; working knowledge of Creo, SolidWorks, ANSYS and Thermal Desktop a plus. Experience with design reviews throughout product life cycle and at multiple levels of integration is required. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
