Kelly Services is currently hiring Manufacturing Engineers to work for one of our top Medical Device customers in San Antonio, TX

The Manufacturing Engineering role will be responsible for the manufacturing processes used for the orthopedic implants and related instrumentation.
Responsibilities include manufacturing planning, process validation and equipment validation activities, supporting process improvements and automation in manufacturing, developing prototype products and supporting fixtures, ensuring appropriate design control and manufacturing documentation, and leading or assisting in the design transfer process.
Will perform route cause analysis
Work with engineering and other functional areas to establish manufacturing requirements for devices being developed.
Develop, purchase or specify equipment and tooling needed for manufacturing and inspection.
Support product development plan timeline and budget as it relates to manufacturing cost and process validation requirements.
Develop and maintain validation master plans and process validation files.
Provide appropriate documentation to support regulatory submissions, ISO certification and Quality System adherence.
Provide drawings and documentation to manufacturing department and outside suppliers to facilitate production of implants and instrumentation.
Pursue automation of manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities also include support to Design, Research/Testing and Development, as well as Marketing, Manufacturing, Regulatory and Quality Assurance. Emphasis is on executing these tasks within the Design Control and Risk Management process.
Experience with CAPAS required
Able to work full time, supervise people as assigned, operate CAD software, schedule process development activities and have general knowledge of manufacturing and documenting to GMP and ISO requirements.
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering, or another engineering discipline.
Must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills and possess multitasking capability.
Should know basics of designing with CAD software (SolidWorks) and office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, etc.).
Travel: As necessary, will travel to industry trade shows and conventions or to manufacturing supplier facilities.
Prefer individual with at least 5 years in manufacturing of medical implants and instruments.
Knowledge of GMP, ISO and quality system practices required.
Experience in process and equipment validation for sterile packaging, shop equipment such as electrical discharge machining, and injection molding desired.
