As a .NET Application Developer you will be part of a project team that delivers high quality, low maintenance software solutions that are fast and efficient to achieve defined business goals. You will have significant influence on application design and architecture while creating custom applications that support strategic initiatives and build value for Valero. Working in close collaboration with end-users, and your teammates throughout our IS departments, you will develop system functionality using Microsoft technologies including .NET and SharePoint to enable and empower business objectives.

As a Developer on the Application Development Services team, you are a member of a select team that has the ability to make an impact within many of the different departments within Valero.

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.


Successful candidates will have (required) :

  • A bachelor's degree (or higher) or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
  • A minimum 5 years of object-oriented programming experience utilizing either Java or C#.
  • Expertise in relational databases, data modeling and SQL scripting.
  • The ability to design, develop, document, and support solutions utilizing design patterns, reference architectures, and best practices.
  • The ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • The aptitude to independently learn new technologies.

The most competitive candidates will have (preferred) :

  • Proficiency with enterprise web application design and development utilizing web technologies, such as HTML5, jQuery, Bootstrap, Angular JS, with a strong focus on user experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft technologies like Visual Studio, MS SQL Server, WCF Services, MVC5/Razor, and ASP.NET.
  • SharePoint app development experience utilizing CSOM, JSOM and REST API.
  • Experience with Enterprise Content Management using SharePoint.
  • Oil and gas industry or related business/IT knowledge.

Position level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
