Responsibilities of the Revenue Accountant: The Revenue Accountant will work with the accounting group and report directly to the Accounting Manager.
Handles most activities associated with the recording of revenue from the sales of oil and gas production.
Creation and distribution of monthly invoices, remittances and allocations for accounting department.
Daily and/or monthly accounting for loss and unaccounted volumes.
Prepares monthly gross margin summary and monthly volume summary.
Preparation of monthly accrual of Midstream Revenue and/or Cost of Goods sold.
Prepares federal and state royalty and tax reports and makes related general ledger (G/L) entries to record/clear payments.
Prepares general ledger (G/L) account reconciliation report and reconciles and clears balances for assigned accounts on a monthly basis.
Prepares gas balancing statements and pipeline reconciliation reports.
Prepares invoices for royalties and taxes paid for partners on a monthly basis.
Prepares sales variance analysis and explains major sales fluctuations for assigned properties on a monthly basis.
Education and Practical Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred
- 3-5 years Industry experience required
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must be organized, detail oriented and able to multi-task
- Must be able to communicate professionally and maintain good working relationships with all employees
