Senior Accountant
My client is a high growth and well-respected organization in the San Antonio area. As they have experienced growth, I have had the pleasure of working with them to add additional staff (10+)along the way. with their growing team and they have an unexpected & rare opening for a Financial Reporting Analyst because of growth! The ideal candidate must have at least 2-3 years experience in public accounting, financial statement prep experience with 1-3 of those years in financial services(credit unions preferable). The ideal candidate will also possess or be in process of obtaining CPA certification.

What will the Senior Accountant do:
- Produce various financial, statistical and operational analysis as well as special reports and projects as requested by management or other departments that are more complex in nature
- Prepares financial reports for the credit union and its subsidiaries. Assists in the production of various monthly, quarterly, year-end, and fiscal year-end financial reports
- Perform peer review/tie-out of financial reports prepared by other team members
- Assist in the maintenance of general ledger accounts and structure within the general ledger software
- Work closely with internal and external auditors in the preparation of fiscal-year end financial reports
- Analyze trends, researching and documenting explanations for changes/variances
- Research accounting and reporting guidance, determining appropriate accounting for transactions
- AD Hoc Reporting for the executive team
- Demonstrate an understanding of GAAP
- Demonstrate knowledge/understanding of how a financial institution works
Requirements of the Senior Accountant:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2-5 years of job-related work experience
- Minimum 3 years financial reporting or financial statement audit experience
Skills, Certifications, and Licensing of the Financial Reporting Analyst:
- 2 to 5 years public accounting experience, preferably with financial institution audit experience
- CPA license preferred, CPA eligible required
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial reports
