Fabricate prototype and limited production machined parts for advanced research and development projects. Manufacture complex precision components, using advanced CNC milling machines and lathes, for spaceflight, DoD and commercial applications. Inspect manufactured components to insure they meet design and quality requirements.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with 5 years of machining experience. Must have knowledge of precision machining operations, tooling and fixturing, and safe work practices. Must be motivated with a strong desire to quickly learn new skills and operational procedures. Requires operation of manual and CNC milling machines and lathes. Must be able to operate simple hand tools, manual machine tools, support equipment, and multi-axis machine tools. Experience with CAD/CAM software is highly desirable, knowledge of ESPRIT CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) software is a plus. Other technical or manufacturing experience and skills (such as welding, electrical or electronics) are a plus. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
