Overview of the Tax Associate role:
Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
Prepare notes to financial statements and tax compliance reports.
Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
Assist in development of financial projections and forecasts.
Prepare personal (1040 1040NR), corporate (1120), foreign corporation (1120F), partnership (1065), Non-Profits (990) and S-Corp (1120S) tax returns.
Review financial records such as income statements and documentation of expenditures to determine forms needed to prepare tax returns.
Check data input or verify totals on forms prepared by others to detect errors in arithmetic, data entry, or procedures.
Prepare schedules to support state and U.S. federal corporation income tax returns, state annual reports, and various international filings by gathering information from SAP and other sources.
Ensure compliance with all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
Professionally communicate with co-workers, management, and clients to discuss financial matters.
Preferred Qualifications for the Tax Associate:
Bachelors degree in accounting preferred
CPA preferred, not required
3 - 5 years' experience in public accounting
The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Must be organized, detail oriented and able to multi-task
Must be able to communicate professionally and maintain good working relationships with all employees
