Operation Hours 6am -6pm Saturday 8am- 4Pm Rotational (Once every 4 weeks)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively  with Transportation Specialist(drivers), inbound teams, members, providers, clinic staff and co-workers.   You will be on the phone directly with internal Customers minimum of 90% of your day(s)
  • In addition to direct phone duties, other dispatching and logistical needs must be attended to, but not limited to:  Dispatch, monitoring and following up on the progress of our transportation specialist in completing their schedule work
  • Assigns and routes transport activity including pick-ups, returns, will-calls, discharges and transfers efficiently
  • Utilization of emails, text messages and other communicative tools to help efficiently route manpower and other resources throughout the days
  • Outbound customer phone calls in limited situations; It may be related to rescheduling services for customers
  • Accurately prepare and process data entry and paperwork including but not limited to maintaining transport request in computer systems, activity reports/trip documents, to update driver and dispatch information into dispatch system real time and a day in advance
  • Inquiring with responsible parties to fully resolve and complete open orders in our dispatching software, including documenting the resolution in notes
  • Identify and resolve daily service and scheduling issues
  • Inform and escalate service issues to management as appropriate
  • Maintain timely and professional communication with customer contacts on issues affecting service and overall performance
  • Maintains member and company confidentiality
  • Monitor and promote safety in all areas of dispatch
  • Reviews current processes and procedures in order to improve and strengthen the customer experience and increase overall efficiency
  • Adjusts the transport schedule as required
  • Performs cross-functional roles and cross-promotes all services offered to customers
  • Notify drivers of work assignments to ensure on-time movement of goods to maximize operational efficiency
  • Regularly monitor driver activities schedules based on time to distance relationships
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience
  • 1-2 years of Transportation, dispatching, terminal assistant, or other related experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of technology within dispatch systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained
