Who We Are:

The Space Avionics Systems team provides research and development and produces advanced spacecraft avionics instruments and payload processing solutions for space exploration.

Objectives of this Role:

  • Provide clerical and administrative support to Space Avionics directors, managers, and engineers and occasionally support other staff in the Space Systems Directorate as needed.
  • Take initiative and follow through on assignments with limited supervision.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

  • Enter delivery dates on SwRI Tracker; keep track of busy project deliverables schedule.
  • Review, format, and submit proposals and various types of reports; this requires meticulous attention to detail and formatting skills.
  • Process PC-7's for Proposals, Project Record Sheets, and Purchase Requisitions.
  • Occasionally will need to ship equipment, both domestically and internationally, learning the correct steps and necessary documents.
  • Provide meeting planning and logistics: manage calendars; coordinate meetings; catering, set-up and clean-up.
  • Coordinate and schedule WebEx meetings.
  • Coordinate travel itineraries and make reservations for domestic and foreign travel and prepare expense reports.


  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Secretarial skills/work experience
  • 6-15 years: Proficient in M/S Word, proficient in Adobe, proficient in Excel, and proficient in PowerPoint
  • Must be detail oriented, possess strong organizational skills, can multi-task and take own initiative to complete necessary tasks
  • Must be willing to work overtime and periodically weekends
  • Must be able to work under pressure with very short turn-around times
  • Willingness to learn and improve their skills
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required

Special Requirements:

Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
