Paying homage to its original spirit, all unique guest rooms and public spaces reflect a combination of Mediterranean Revival architecture, rich Spanish Colonial history, and calm Caribbean temperament, which has made Hotel Havana one of the most authentic places to stay in San Antonio. Bunkhouse has designed and developed a celebrated portfolio of hospitality projects including Hotel San Jos, Hotel Saint Cecilia, Austin Motel, and Jo's Coffee in Austin, Hotel Havana and Ocho in San Antonio, El Cosmico in Marfa, Texas, The Phoenix in San Francisco, California, and Hotel San Cristobal in Baja, Mexico.We're looking for someone with:High School diploma or general education degree (GED). College Degree preferredSix (6) months related experience in hospitality or service industryMust be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) of the workplaceAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manualsAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceAbility to speak effectively before groups of co-workers and sister property staffAbility to create documents in Excel and WordAbility to understand other computer programs (i.e. Property Management System)Ability to apply concepts of math including: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and algebra, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsJob Responsibilities / Duties:Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, training material, memos and verbal instructionComplete all shift checklist itemsCheck in and out all hotel guests in a confident, professional and personalized mannerTake hotel reservations accurately and efficientlyAssist in the development and implementation of special projectsEnsure immediate response is given to any and all guest comments and concerns and inform immediate supervisor of concerns and assist implementing corrective measure when necessaryMaintain a positive relationship with all employees and guestsEnsure all calls are answered in a courteous, professional and efficient mannerMaintain an accurate log of guest calls for assistance or complaints, and ensure completion of all itemsOpen, secure and balance out shift banks to include the verification of all cash, credit card and room charge transactions during all shiftsMaintain accuracy with all accounting and billing proceduresHave a comprehensive knowledge of hotel availability and current rates and/or special events (which may have an impact on occupancy and availability)Issue guest safety deposit boxes as requestedPossess fluent knowledge of local restaurants, special events, city attractions, amenities and directionsEnsure open lines of communication with all departments and upper management at all times via email, log books, meetings, etc., to ensure all needs of the hotel are met.Maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety in the work areaEnsure that all equipment is maintained in good, safe working conditionMaintain an increased awareness of safety issues throughout the propertyKeep abreast of safety and emergency procedures and OSHA requirementsAttend relevant meetingsCompensation & Benefits:Bunkhouse offers competitive wages, a superior benefits and PTO package, and a liberal working environment that fosters individuality and creativity.Bunkhouse Core Values:BE REAL.
