The BAMC Security Branch (Office) Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security (PTMS) Division is responsible for performing activities related to personnel security investigations and security clearance actions of military personnel, civilian employees, contractor, and vendors assigned to or associated with BAMC. Security specialists in the Military protect and defend. The Security Specialist will conduct risk/vulnerability assessments, analyze crime, and recommend appropriate courses of action to eliminate conditions conducive to terrorism, espionage, sabotage, wrongful destruction, malicious damage, theft, and pilferage. Law enforcement specialists that focus on security require a breadth of knowledge in weapon systems, antiterrorism, law enforcement, defense, and combat arms. The Security Specialist provides vital support to the BAMC Security Branch (Office) to process security related requirements for newly assigned personnel or personnel designated to work at BAMC and all outlying clinics.


  • Plan, evaluate, and supervise the implementation of site-specific security plans to protect assets designated as vital to national security
  • Restore and/or maintain security to prevent access, damage, or removal of vital assets
  • Demonstrate skill in land navigation and patrolling
  • Execute interior guard procedures, and be familiar with antiterrorist tactics and techniques
  • Conduct offensive infantry tactics in confined spaces, ashore, and/or in the air, to restore security when breached
  • Provide armed internal security to designated United States diplomatic and consular facilities to prevent the compromise of classified information and equipment integral to national security
  • Perform law enforcement techniques, small arms handling and employment, and emergency first aid
  • Conduct inspections, preliminary investigations, and vulnerability assessments
  • Control entry and exit of military and civilian personnel, vehicles, and other equipment at military installation access points, on United States diplomatic missions, or at other designated establishments
  • Execute convoy escort and defense operations


  • At least two (2) years security experience.
  • Military security experience a plus.
  • Physically fit: Position may require periods of intense physical activity in extreme conditions.
  • Ability to demonstrate literacy in using computerized information systems.

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent. Two year's military, fire/rescue, police or other law enforcement can be substituted for security experience. College level criminal justice credits and/or security experience in a hospital environment a plus.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: U.S. citizenship, dual citizenship is not permitted
