Sr. Program Manager-"Open Source" PMO

100% Remote, (Guaranteed contract through the end of FY22 (9/30), planning to extend pending budget, possible temp-to-perm) no c2c, unable to sponsor now, unable to sponsor in future

SUMMARY:

Program Manager of Open Source Technologies needed to manage a 5-year technical roadmap for development teams and cross-functional teams across the organization. You will influence the organizational shift towards open-source software development.

You have the ability to communicate and collaborate with a wide variety of different technical and non-technical audiences throughout an Enterprise IT Organization. You can demonstrate a proven track record of conquering complex business problems with a deep understanding of technical issues and dependencies. The Program Manager has a clear-picture vision with the ability to communicate abstract concepts. You will be in constant engagement with Technical Architecture teams, the Legal Department, Development groups, Product Marketing along with C-Levels.

DAY-2-DAY:

  • Architect and Orchestrate the Open Source PMO for a Fortune 1000 IT Organization including generating various Programs and initiatives.
  • Build, Implement and Standardize Open Source Policy.
  • Community-building with Advocates for Open Source Technology throughout the Org.
  • Work closely with teams across the org to encourage active participation in Open Source initiatives.
  • Functional Program ownership and identification of key metrics.
  • Effective communication to keep various stakeholders informed.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of Technical Program Management experience with direct involvement in Open Source Technical Programs/Projects
  • Agile & Waterfall methodologies
  • Experience leading globally distributed teams
  • Experienced with different open source technologies and frameworks, has contributed Open Source Project/Program deliverables and impactful changes.
  • Excellent communicator at all levels of the organization can formulate relationships internally.
  • Delivery and Operations experience with hands-on involvement encompassing product, development, technical architecture & teams responsible for gathering business requirements.
  • Highly organized, ability to present information to executive teams, excellent customer service abilities
  • Able to swiftly grasp new technologies and innovations/IT developments in the open-source space
  • Ability to drive results, facilitate important meetings, high attention to detail when exploring both business and software development/architectural complexities.
  • Proven track record of program delivery/rollouts in a concurrent development environment with build & merge management process
  • Experience setting up an Open Source PMO is a strong nice-to-have
  • Technical Product development experience is ideal
